Scripture Memorization - a poll

Scripture Memorization. It's important, to me.

I want to spend my days meditating on God's Word.

Excuses I have, for why I have not memorized scripture well. I want to lay those excuses down, and place His Word into my heart for recall in times of need, in times of gratitude, and in times of praise.

What should I memorize? I am having troubles settling this question. There is far too much to choose from. Goodness, my Bible is 2335 pages or so filled with God's Word.

I need to start somewhere.

Would you be so kind? Please give me your input?

My choices:

1. Sermon on the Mount - Matthew 5,6, and 7
I will use A Holy Experience's booklet, and would most likely also utilize Sermon on the Mount: A verse-by-Verse Look at the Greates Teachings of Jesus for greater understanding.

Participating with Do Not Depart, and the Facebook group as well as in the Scripture Typer Group.

3. Romans 1, 8, and 12
I will use A Holy Experience's booklet - the booklet is linked under the Roman's Project eventhough it is titled "Download and print the Sermon on the Mount Memory Cards".I will also participate in the Scripture Typer Group.

4. Individual Random Verses such as - One a Week a Scripture Memory Plan, Fighter Verse Program, etc.

Side Note: I will either use the NIV or ESV for my memorization translation.

I was thinking that you could pick a topic and choose several scriptures related to that to memorize. Something that you could pull out of your head when you need a smile or you're struggling or mad.

Whatever choice you go with, one of my favorite passages I've memorized is Philippians 2:5-13. If only I can get my mind to dwell in this attitude...
