Are You Having Trouble Commenting? Me too!
I am so thoroughly frustrated, very much so.
I blog, and really love doing so. I don't have much time to do it though. I love receiving comments; gives some purpose for the blog beyond record keeping, and feeds my social need in its unique way.
I love reading other people's blogs too. I also really like commenting. Because commenting does take time, I do not do it as often as I would like. I am, however, determined to do better - especially with those who do take the time to comment here. But...a big huge fat BUT....I have run into a snag. A big huge fat SNAG that is leaving me incredibly frustrated.
This frustration started about a month or so ago; I blew it off. Now, I am finding myself ridiculously frustrated because I truly, truly, truly want to leave comments, but guess what....leaving comments via my iPad or iPhone onto any Blogger blog is just NOT happening. I have figured out the issue, I think, through trial and error.
Blogger and Safari (using my iPad and iPhone) just are not on friendly terms. I have determined that they are simply not playing nice together, and instead of working it out, they have decided to act like brats and not talk to one another! Ugh! Big huge fat UGH!
So here is what I have discovered: I can comment on Blogger posts while on my ipad IF I am using the Diigo Browser. No issues at all. NONE! Well, except for the fact that whenever I hit a link via email, Sarfari pops up. Safari is my default browser and I cannot figure out how to change that. Also, all my bookmarks are on Safari. I guess, my "Internet life" has been wrapped up with Safari, and so the untangling of the two is very time consuming as I have no idea how to do it. I am determined though. If Blogger and Safari (using my iPad and iPhone) do not figure things out and start playing nice again, well then,I have no choice but to dump Safari.
For now, I just have to go the long way around; copy and paste from Safari browser to Diigo browser the blog's address, and then comment away. Big huge fat PAIN in the butt, and so I do not do it often.
Just to note, when I am on my desktop, I do not have any issues between Blogger and Safari; weird. However, I am hardly on my desktop as I have found that I can do about 95% of what I need to do on my iPad.
Soooo....Am I the only one with this issue? Please, tell me that I am not.
I know that I cannot be because at least I know that my best friend is having issues too. But, I also want to know about you --my blogging friends and those who read my blog.
And oh, if your using your iPad right now, and want to comment here but find it difficult to do so then please download the Diigo Browser app. If you don't want to do that, but still want to give me some feedback, then please email me at ibeeeg@gmail.com

P.S. - if you have any advice for me as to how to fix this problem, if there is a solution, please do share as I would love to know. Thanks.

I don't have any tablets or smart phones, but I have been a Mac user for many years and have never stuck with using Safari - there are just too many websites that don't work properly with it. Try Mozilla Firefox - it works great on Apple products and most websites work really well with it. I can't remember how to change your default browser, but just go to apple.com and type "change default browser iPad" into the help search box.
Oh, and I think you can import your bookmarks from Safari into Firefox.
When I saw the title, I thought this post was going to be about how the word verification keeps getting more and more difficult! That's my beef!
Good luck -

just a quick note to say I feel your pain but am not experiencing it. I've avoided the whole thing by getting a laptop instead of an iPad and using Firefox. I really wanted an iPad but I'm so use to the mouse that I didn't think I could blog on it and I would've been my main computer.
Good luck!
I hear you about the word verification thing. It drives me crazy too especially now that a word and numbers have to typed in. Ugh. Sometimes, if I have to retype that too many times, I just give up.
Thanks for the tips regarding how to have another browser as my default. I usually don't have any Safari issues on my desktop, so have not seriously considered using a different browser there. I have used Firefox in the past, so I will see if there is an app for the iPad. There probably is a way to import the bookmarks from Safari to a different browser...more work for me for an issue that was not an issue until just a month or so ago and that's why it's so frustrating.
I understand about the laptop choice. I thought I would never be able to manage without my laptop. I have found though that the iPad really can do a lot of things, and with so many different ways to store stuff, I don't really need a hard drive with a port. Yes, there is a learning curve to figure out how to do things in a different manner, but once learned, it is easy peasy.
I use Blogsy for creating all of my blog posts. At first, i did not like it and missed my Windows Live Writer program greatly. Now, I find that Blogsy is great. And they have done so many updates that its user-friendliness is really good. There are limitations, true, but nothing so great that it prohibits my posts from being created. :)
If one day you do find yourself with an iPad, just know that it is very functional for almost anything with exception to photos; I like my desktop but still can use my iPad if need be. And for bill paying, it is easier on my desktop for the major work. But for simple banking like transferring money and such, no biggie on the iPad.
Sorry you are having problems commenting. I do not have any "I" device so no problems commenting, except my laptop does not me to comment on blogs using the intensedebate sysem for comments. I have to use my desk top, so that is frustrating as I use my laptop more often!
I hate commenting issues. My phone won't let me comment on your blog, and as I'm often on my phone looking at blogs, I can't always comment. :-(
Jenny - I think your blog is another one that I visit and have a hard time leaving comments ; not many comments coming from me...sorry. Once I am using a different browser, I hope my commenting increases.
I just added disqus for mobile devices, I wonder if that will be helpful for you. Please try and let me know as I am curious. Thanks.
Ugh...I am sorry you have commenting problems too. If those are high visit blogs for you, have you let them know in some way that intensedebate gives you troubles? Maybe there is a way they can fix that through settings on intensedebate????
I am having this problem right now. I am rarely on my laptop these days my iphone the only to comment yet it hates disqus and commenting on blogger blogs. Drives me mental. No idea how I can fix it but might try your way.
